What are White Fillings?

White Fillings are medical grade composite resin materials that are used to fill in teeth where cavities have been removed. They are an aesthetic alternative to silver Amalgam fillings. At Carlton Dental in Downtown Toronto, we use a specific type of filling material that have colour matching technology in them that makes it easy for us to match the filling material to the colour of your teeth.

Discover the advantages of composite white fillings. Our skilled dentists use composite resin material to create fillings that offer both strength and aesthetic appeal, providing a functional dental restoration and a natural looking outcome.

What is Done During Fillings?

The initial step involves the removal of decay or a failing restoration from the specific tooth being treated. Following that, a bonding agent is applied to the prepared tooth. Composite material can then be carefully placed and shaped to match the structure of your tooth. To ensure its durability and longevity, the material is hardened using concentrated light rays. Please note that the exact duration of the procedure may vary based on individual patient requirements and specific dental conditions.

Unlike the silver Amalgam fillings, composite fillings are crafted to seamlessly blend with your natural tooth, providing a natural look and feel.

The filling material is composed of acrylic and glass particles, completely free from mercury or other metals.

What are the Benefits of White Fillings?

Dental fillings are typically done to repair teeth that have been damaged by decay (cavities) or trauma. When bacteria in the mouth produce acids that attack the tooth enamel, it can lead to the formation of cavities. If left untreated, these cavities can deepen and compromise the structure of the tooth, potentially leading to pain, infection, and further decay. Dental fillings are used to fill in the cavities and restore the tooth's shape, function, and integrity after the decay is removed. They also help to prevent further decay and preserve the tooth, allowing for normal chewing and speaking.

How much are Teeth Fillings?

Teeth Fillings can cost anywhere between $200 to $600. There are two main factors that change the cost of fillings, they are:
